Cardiology Treatment Challenge

Unstable AFib with Pulmonary Edema · L1

How this exercise works

Drag ACLS interventions into the correct priority order for bradycardia, tachycardia, or arrest algorithms. Life-threatening rhythms get pacing, shock, or epinephrine before secondary steps.

Fundamental concept

Sequencing pacing, defibrillation, medications, and supportive care for bradycardia, tachycardia, and arrest rhythms.

Scenario

New AFib rate 170, BP 82/50, acute pulmonary edema, SpO₂ 88%.

Drag items into priority order — highest priority at the top.

Available

Recognize unstable tachycardia with acute heart failure
Avoid diltiazem or beta-blockers in hypotensive pulmonary edema
Supplemental oxygen; prepare CPAP if alert and protocol allows
Synchronized cardioversion for unstable AFib with rapid ventricular response
Transport with continuous monitoring post-cardioversion
