Cardiology Treatment Challenge

Refractory Bradycardia After Atropine · L1

How this exercise works

Drag ACLS interventions into the correct priority order for bradycardia, tachycardia, or arrest algorithms. Life-threatening rhythms get pacing, shock, or epinephrine before secondary steps.

Fundamental concept

Sequencing pacing, defibrillation, medications, and supportive care for bradycardia, tachycardia, and arrest rhythms.

Scenario

Complete heart block, symptomatic. Atropine 3 mg total ineffective. BP 80/48, altered.

Drag items into priority order — highest priority at the top.

Available

Rapid transport; notify receiving facility of pacing need
Confirm capture and improved perfusion with TCP
Start epinephrine or dopamine infusion per protocol
Initiate transcutaneous pacing immediately
Recognize atropine-refractory symptomatic bradycardia
