Cardiology Treatment Challenge

Refractory VF — Drug and Shock Cycle · L1

How this exercise works

Drag ACLS interventions into the correct priority order for bradycardia, tachycardia, or arrest algorithms. Life-threatening rhythms get pacing, shock, or epinephrine before secondary steps.

Fundamental concept

Sequencing pacing, defibrillation, medications, and supportive care for bradycardia, tachycardia, and arrest rhythms.

Scenario

VF arrest. Three shocks and 3 rounds CPR given. Still in VF. IV access available.

Drag items into priority order — highest priority at the top.

Available

Search reversible causes (H's and T's) during CPR
Continue high-quality CPR and shock every 2 minutes
Transport if ROSC; otherwise continue ACLS per termination criteria
Administer epinephrine 1 mg IV every 3–5 minutes
Consider amiodarone 300 mg IV after epinephrine and continued shocks
