Scenario

7-year-old struck by car: GCS 12, HR 140, BP 78/50, active external bleeding from femur.

Available

Pediatric trauma center transport; Broselow tape dosing
IO/IV access; isotonic crystalloid 20 mL/kg bolus per protocol
Airway and breathing assessment; BVM if inadequate
Control hemorrhage with direct pressure and splint femur
Prevent hypothermia with warm blankets and warmed fluids
