Trauma Management

Pelvic Fracture — Mechanical Stability · L1

How this exercise works

Rank multi-system trauma interventions from most to least urgent. Hemorrhage control and airway still precede detailed extremity care.

Fundamental concept

Ranking hemorrhage control, airway management, and stabilization before definitive fracture care in complex trauma.

Read: Multi-System Trauma Intervention Priority →

Scenario

MVC: open book pelvic deformity, hypotensive, no other obvious hemorrhage source.

Drag items into priority order — highest priority at the top.

Control external bleeding; tourniquets for extremity sources
IV/IO access; blood products per massive transfusion protocol if available
Apply pelvic binder at level of greater trochanters
Avoid unnecessary movement; log roll for spine assessment
